Overview
Conflict and instability have disrupted many Mbororo and other vulnerable communities. This project engaged 30 local youth in a peacebuilding initiative that uses storytelling and dialogue to foster greater understanding, reconciliation, and nonviolent conflict resolution. The workshop was aimed at empowered participants with peace building and trauma healing mechanism using storytelling whereby survivors of violence could freely tell their stories without being forced to do so
Goal:
To equip 30 youth with skills in conflict analysis, dialogue facilitation, and community storytelling.
To create a safe space for the 30 youth to share their personal experiences, build empathy, and develop collaborative solutions to local conflicts.
Target:
30 youth both boys and girls
Expected Outcomes:
30 youth complete the peacebuilding training program and demonstrate improved skills in conflict resolution and community dialogue.
The 30 youth collectively facilitate 20 community dialogues and storytelling sessions to promote peace and reconciliation.
Participating communities report reduced incidences of violent and increased trust/collaboration between divided groups.
The youth-led peacebuilding model is replicated in 3 additional Mbororo and vulnerable communities.
